The context

PortraitPal is an AI professional portrait generator: users upload a few selfies and receive 20 to 100+ studio-quality headshots the same day, ready for LinkedIn, resumes, and corporate sites. A high-traction consumer product positioned as the alternative to traditional photo sessions ($35 vs $150-600).

The brief

The goal: maximize sign-ups and pack purchases with a site that has to convince within seconds. The expectations:

  • Show the result, not the technologyVisitors need to see realistic portraits and picture themselves in them right away.
  • Build overwhelming credibilitySocial proof (traction numbers, press, company logos) has to crush any doubt.
  • Compare head-onPrice positioning against a traditional photographer, with no ambiguity.
  • Reassure on privacyA sensitive subject (face photos + AI) that calls for total transparency.
  • Convert fastA short purchase journey, with no complex sign-up required upfront.

The design approach

A clean, result-driven direction: the product is the customer's face, so the site has to let the images do the talking.

The wall of portraits as hero

A carousel of real headshots, visible immediately, proving quality before any pitch.

The numbers front and center

62M+ headshots generated, 3.19M+ professionals; the counters sit at the top of the page, impossible to miss.

The press as endorsement

Rolling Stone, Hollywood Reporter, Bloom: media logos reinforce credibility.

The corporate logos

Salesforce, Google, Coca-Cola; not direct clients, but companies whose employees use the service.

The head-to-head comparison

A "Traditional photoshoot vs PortraitPal" table that lays out the value proposition in black and white.

The dedicated privacy block

Photos deleted within 30 days, no reselling of data, no AI training on the photos; a clear commitment, isolated and visible.

In their words

We needed a site that could convert at the scale of our traction: millions of users, fierce competition, and a product where visual trust is everything. The team built a crystal-clear journey, the portraits speak for themselves, social proof does the rest, and the checkout is frictionless. The results are there.

Alex P., CEO & Co-founder of PortraitPal

I had an interview at Salesforce the following week and no decent LinkedIn photo. A photographer wanted $400 and 3 weeks. I tried PortraitPal on a whim: $35, 12 selfies uploaded that evening, and 60 headshots in my inbox the next morning. The quality is stunning, I picked my favorite in 2 minutes. I got the job.
